Who We Are
Javpar Kuchyně is a recipe journal found at javpar.com. We publish traditional Bohemian and Czech recipes together with notes on the ingredients and cooking fats behind them. This page describes what information passes through the site while you read, and what happens to it. Because this is a reading site rather than a store, that turns out to be a short story.
The Short Version
We do not ask you to register, we do not run a newsletter signup wall, and we never handle payment details of any kind. The information involved in a visit is the kind any website receives automatically, plus whatever you choose to write to us if you send an email. Advertising partners such as Google may set cookies to show ads, and you can opt out of personalized ads at any time using the links further down this page.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Like nearly every website, javpar.com may rely on cookies, which are small text files a browser stores on your device. They help pages remember basic preferences and help us and our advertising partners understand, in aggregate, how the site is used. Your browser gives you full control here: you can block cookies entirely, clear them whenever you like, or have the browser warn you before one is set. Blocking cookies may change how some parts of the site behave, but the recipes will always remain readable.
Advertising and Google AdSense
To keep the recipes free to read, we may display advertising served by third parties, including Google AdSense. When ads are shown, Google and its certified partners may use advertising cookies to select ads based on your earlier visits to this site or to other websites.
- You can switch off personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings.
- Google explains how it uses cookies in advertising at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
- Google's broader handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What We Learn When You Visit
Our hosting infrastructure records the routine technical details of each request: the page viewed, an IP address, the browser and device type, and the page that linked here. We may also review aggregated statistics, for example which recipe was read most this month or how long visitors stay on a page. These figures describe traffic as a whole and are not used to build profiles of individual readers.
If you write to us by email, we naturally receive whatever your message contains, usually a name, an email address and the text itself.
How That Information Is Used
- Keeping the site online, fast and secure.
- Understanding which recipes and articles readers find useful, so we can write better ones.
- Replying when you contact us.
- Supporting the advertising described above.
- Meeting legal obligations where they apply.
When Information Leaves Our Hands
We do not sell or rent reader information to anyone. Technical data is necessarily processed by the service providers who host the site and, where ads are shown, by the advertising partners named above, each under their own published policies. Beyond that, information would only be disclosed if the law required it.
Links to Other Websites
Some pages link to outside resources. Once you follow such a link, the destination site's own privacy practices apply, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for how other websites treat your information.
Keeping Information Safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection and we keep the amount of stored personal information deliberately small. No method of transmission over the Internet is perfectly secure, but holding little data is itself the best protection we can offer.
Visitors Under 13
The site is written for a general adult audience of home cooks. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Choices Available to You
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information a website holds about you, or to object to certain processing. Since we store almost nothing beyond email correspondence, exercising these rights is usually as simple as writing to us. We will respond to any reasonable request within a sensible time.
Updates to This Policy
If our practices change, this page changes with them, and the revision date at the top will tell you when that last happened. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
